Hello, Twilight lovers and addicts! If you haven’t read the number one novel, Twilight, then here’s what one of the number one novels in the stores is all about and what I think of the movie edition.
Twilight, a novel by Stephenie Meyer, is about Isabella (Bella) Swan, who moves to Forks, Oregon, to spend a year with her dad. She’s determined that she won’t like Forks until she meets a mysterious guy at her new high school, Edward Cullen. His family is known for being mysterious in the town of Forks. Edward is one of five foster kids taken in by Dr. and Mrs. Cullen. What no one knows is that this family is a family of vampires, which comes with special powers and abilities. Edward tries to avoid Bella, because he knows that she is different than everyone else and he doesn’t understand what she’s thinking. (He can read minds).
Finally Edward gives in and the two end up falling in love. The twist is that as their relationship grows stronger, Edward must protect her from what dangers might come their way…
The series continues with how their relationship grows and it shows a sense of protection between the two. I think that’s what keeps me addicted along with every other young reader in America; the fact that Bella always has someone to protect her, whether it’s from slipping on ice or falling off of a bridge.
If you haven’t read this series, I highly suggest it.
Now for some of the curious parents, I know you might think that a book on vampires is weird and science fictional, but really it’s not. The fact that it has a twist to one of the characters being a vampire makes the story more interesting and not just your expected and classic love story.
By the way this book is more of a girl’s book. It’s a kind of lovie dovie book so I wouldn’t recommend it to any teenage guys or middle school guys. If you haven’t noticed, most of the midnight premiere guests that were willing to do anything to see the movie first were girls.
Now we move onto talk about the movie. In my opinion, the director of this Twilight movie did a pretty good job of cramming a six hundred page book into two hours. It is a hard task, especially when the book has so many great and important details that everyone wants to see acted out on screen.
The movie captures story line very well. With Robert Pattinson as Edward and Kristen Stewart as Bella, the story gets a little interesting between the two.
The author, Stephenie Meyer, said she never planned to be a writer, it just fell into her lap with a dream. She said that one night about a year ago, she had a dream where the entire plot of her number one novel unfolded before her. She had the inspiration of a young girl character, Bella, had moved to another state for some reason. In this process she meets a boy, Edward, and he turns out to be what no one expected him to be, a vampire. The two fell in love at nearly first sight… after that the story was written by itself. Meyer says that she was only the person to put the story on paper, that it was written without her even knowing it…through that dream she had.
Now Stephenie Meyer has driven young girls to find the true story that they’ve written in their minds and through their wishes and dreams.
If you haven’t read the Twilight series, I suggest it to any young girl who just needs a good book to sit down and read, but beware, after the first thirty pages, you’ll be addicted!
